The Huskers—who are now 29-11 on the season—clinched the title with a 9-0 win over Ohio State on Sunday in Bloomington, Indiana. To secure the title, Nebraska needed the win over the Buckeyes and for Maryland to defeat Michigan. Both happened, as the Terrapins also took down the Wolverines 7-3 earlier on Sunday. Michigan now sits 3.5 games back from Nebraska in second place.
Nebraska has won the Big Ten championship twice, with the previous win coming in 2017. This is Will Bolt’s first Big Ten title, which comes in his second season as the Huskers’ head coach.
Sunday’s win over Ohio State is now Nebraska’s eighth straight win. The Huskers went 4-0 over the weekend in their pod with Indiana and Ohio State.
Nebraska will now return home for the final weekend of the regular season to host Michigan in a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT on Friday at Haymarket Park.
