Nebraska’s Aaron Palensky, Cam Chick Earn Big Ten Honors

May 21, 2019

The Big Ten announced its postseason honors and award winners on Tuesday. Nebraska found a couple of names on the list as it prepares for the Big Ten tournament: sophomore outfielder Aaron Palensky and freshman Cam Chick.

Palensky led the Huskers in hits (65), doubles (11), triples (2), home runs (5) and runs scored (36). He has 20 multi-hit efforts this season—the most on the team—to go along with six multi-RBI performances. That ties him for second-most on the squad.

It was an impressive first year for Palensky as a Husker. He should feel right at home in the conference tournament too, considering he attended Papillion-La Vista (Neb.) South.

Chick earned the designated hitter spot on the second team and the All-Freshman Team. For the regular season, Chick compiled 35 hits, two doubles, four home runs, 25 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He has recorded 10 multi-hit efforts and six multi-RBI showings.

Chick was a member of Nebraska’s top ranked Big Ten 2018 freshman class.
