Nebraska infielder Cam Chick was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday. Chick is a freshman from Hickman High School in Rocheport, Missouri.

Chick earned the honor after Nebraska’s midweek win over Kansas State and the weekend sweep of Purdue. He hit .333 on the week with six RBIs and four runs scored.
He also hit two home runs and a double as as he registered a .333 on-base percentage and .800 slugging percentage. This is his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award.
Chick joins Colby Gomes with the freshman of the week honor, which Gomes was recognized for earlier in the season on March 4.
Nebraska next faces Creighton Tuesday night at home at Haymarket Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CT on FS1.
