Coach Will Bolt met with the media on Tuesday to discuss Nebraska’s 2021 baseball season, which begins this Friday against Purdue at Dell Diamond Stadium in Round Rock, Texas. Bolt said that the team is motivated and excited “as any team I’ve ever been around in preparation for a season.”
“They haven’t asked for much other than an opportunity to get after it,” Bolt said.
Bolt also confirmed that junior pitcher Colby Gomes will not pitch this season due to an injury. He underwent surgery on his shoulder last month.
“Unfortunately he’s worked really hard to get back in that spot,” Bolt said. “To have that disappointment, I feel for him more than anything.”
