Nebraska baseball coach Will Bolt said on Sunday that Nebraska “laid a big egg” in Rutgers’ three-game sweep of the Huskers. On Wednesday, he said he expected his team to bounce back after the weekend.
Bolt added that Nebraska is “incredibly hungry to win” as the Huskers prepare to play in Piscataway this weekend. Nebraska will face both Indiana and Rutgers on the road.
Additionally, Bolt said left-handed pitcher Kyle Perry will pitch to live batters on Wednesday. Perry underwent Tommy John surgery last summer, so this will be the first time he’s pitched to live batters since then. If all goes well, Bolt hopes to still use him this season.
