Nebraska coach Will Bolt feels “very” confident that Northwestern will be in Lincoln this weekend for the Huskers’ three-game series with the Wildcats. Northwestern has had to pause team activities due to COVID-19 issues for its last two weekend series. Bolt has been in contact with the Wildcats coach Spencer Allen and expects everything to go on as planned unless something changes between now and Thursday.
“I think they get on a bus tomorrow morning to come play,” Bolt said during media availability on Wednesday. “I’ve talked to their coach this week, Coach Allen, and unless something happens between today and tomorrow, that’s the plan.”
If Northwestern is able to make the trip, Friday’s series opener will be the Wildcats’ first game in 18 days. Nebraska, on the other hand, has a quick turnaround having just returned from Piscataway for a pod series with Rutgers and Indiana.
