Huskers Land First 2024 Commit in 4-Star Guard Nick Janowski

Nebraska’s recruiting momentum rolled on Friday as Fred Hoiberg landed his his first 2024 commit in Pewaukee (Wisconsin) guard Nick Janowski.

The 6-foot-3 comb-guard is a consensus 4-star recruit ranked 95th nationally in the 247Sports Composite. He’s 80th in 247Sports’ rankings, 11th in On3’s and 112th in Rivals’. The southpaw is a knockdown

According to wissports.net, Janowski averaged 23.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 54.6% from the field (41.8% from 3) and 76.8% from the free-throw line in 24 games as a junior. He led Pewaukee to a Division 2 state title in Wisconsin, putting up 20 points, eight assists and six rebounds in the championship game.

Janowski put up 46 points in a 99-95 win against Milwaukee Academy of Science on Feb. 21, shooting 15-of-25 from the field (8-of-12 from 3) and 8-of-9 from the foul line with seven rebounds and six assists. He also had games of 34, 32 and 31 points this past season. He also had a 27-point, 12-rebounds, 10-assist triple-double in a 97-71 win against Wisconsin Lutheran on Feb. 7.

As a sophomore, he averaged 16.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 52.7% from the field (45.2% from 3) and 77% from the free-throw line in 30 games. He made an immediate impact as a freshman as well, putting up 10.6 points per game.

Janowski took a visit to Nebraska March 27-28 and chose the Huskers over offers from Wisconsin, Marquette, Iowa, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, USC and Virginia Tech. The Huskers originally offered in June of 2022.
