Nebraska took care of business last week with a 86-62 win over Cal State Fullerton, but the 10-2 Huskers got jumped in both polls after some other teams scored a big win.
Nebraska dropped out of the Top 25 in the AP Poll and moved down one spot from No. 22 to No. 23 in the Coaches Poll.
The Huskers are the top team among those receiving votes in the AP poll by far, which amounts to the Huskers moving down one spot .
NC State knocked off a top-10 team in Auburn last Wednesday and blew out South Carolina Upstate to improve to 11-1 with their only loss coming against Wisconsin. The Wolfpack went from 31st to 20th. Oklahoma beat Creighton and Northwestern last week to improve to 11-1 as well, and the Sooners’ only loss is also to the Badgers. They went from the top team receiving votes to 25th. Furman and Nebraska dropped out.
In the Coaches Poll, Marquette moved up from No. 23 to No. 20 after handing Buffalo its first loss in impressive fashion and blowing out North Dakota, improving to 10-2. That bumped Nebraska down one spot. Furman and Maryland both dropped out of the poll after a loss and NC State and Indiana took their place, while Oklahoma is 26th.
After Kansas lost to Arizona State, Duke moved up to No. 1 in the AP Poll while Virginia has taken over the top spot in the Coaches Poll.
Michigan leads the Big Ten at No. 2 in the AP Poll and No. 4 in the Coaches Poll while Michigan State is at No. 8 and No. 7, respectively. Ohio State (No. 13/11), Wisconsin (No. 15/16), Indiana (No. 23/25) and Iowa (No. 24/21) round out the Big Ten teams in the polls.
Nebraska will close out the nonconference last against Division II Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday before diving back into conference play next week.
