The Huskers will face a 20-game conference schedule, with the home opener scheduled for Friday, Dec. 25, against Michigan. Nebraska is one of four Big Ten games to be played on Christmas Day: Wisconsin at Michigan State, Iowa at Minnesota, Maryland at Purdue and, of course, Michigan at Nebraska. The Nebraska men’s basketball team last played on Christmas Day in 2014. That matchup was against Ohio in Hawaii.
Nebraska’s double-play opponents for this 2020-21 season are Wisconsin, Michigan State, Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota, Maryland and Penn State. The Huskers’ single-play home opponents are Indiana, Rutgers and Michigan, while the single-play road games are matchups at Iowa, Northwestern and Ohio State.
Half of Nebraska’s conference games are against teams ranked in the AP preseason top 25. The Big Ten teams currently ranked are Iowa (4), Wisconsin (7), Illinois (8), Michigan State (13), Ohio State (23), Rutgers (24) and Michigan (25).
Tipoff times and broadcast information will be released at a later date. The non-conference schedule—which includes the Golden Window Classic—is expected to be announced soon. Coach Fred Hoiberg said Tuesday that he expected it as early as Wednesday.
