Nebraska’s new men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg took to the mound at Haymarket Park on Tuesday evening ahead of the Huskers’ matchup with Creighton. Hoiberg was on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the game.

Hoiberg’s pitch was a good one too, heading straight down the middle of the plate to senior pitcher Nate Fisher.
Hoiberg was joined by assistant coach Matt Abdelmassih, as well as former Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz. Considering Lutz’s name has been floated around as a potential addition to Hoiberg’s staff, his presence on Tuesday appears to convey that he will be involved with the Huskers in some role going forward.
