Husker Attic: 1983 Nebraska NIT Notepad

March 20, 2019

There’s a lot of great Husker memorabilia out there. Husker Attic is how we’ve showcased those vintage finds in every issue of Hail Varsity since our very first one. In the weeks ahead we’re sharing some of those gems online for the first time. Brought to you by Husker Army Presents 2019 Husker Collectible and Autograph Show.

>>Cloudy led the Huskers in both scoring and rebounding in each of the three victories that earned the trip to the Big Apple.

>>Nebraska played the three opening-round games at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, defeating Tulane, Iona and Texas Christian, before losing to DePaul in New York City. DePaul lost to Fresno State in the championship game.

>>This season’s NIT appearance was the Huskers’ 19th all-time.

>>The Huskers also reached the NIT semifinals in 1987 and won the tournament in 1996, both times under Coach Danny Nee.
