Nebraska opens its season with an exhibition game against Doane on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The matchup marks the earliest season-opener in school history. After four straight home games, the Huskers will then hit the road for the Cayman Islands Classic in late November.
The contest with Southern on Friday, Nov. 22 is also part of the Cayman Islands Classic. Each of the eight teams in the tournament will play one home game prior to departure for George Town, Grand Cayman. The other teams in the tournament are Colorado State, George Mason, Loyola (Chicago), New Mexico State, Old Dominion, South Florida and Washington State. The pairing for the bracket has yet to be announced.
Nebraska faces both Georgia Tech (Dec. 4) and Creighton (Dec. 7) on the road in early December before final exams. The Huskers will then return for their final two nonconference matchups with North Dakota (Dec. 21) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Dec. 29).
Pinnacle Bank Arena will play host to Nebraska’s 17-game home schedule, which is highlighted by 10 Big Ten matchups. That includes Michigan State, Purdue, Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Northwestern, Penn State and Rutgers.
