Akenten visited Nebraska last Saturday for the football team’s matchup against Wyoming. He was spotted on the sidelines talking with Nebrasketball head coach Tim Miles.
The 6-6, 200-pound guard had 12 offers before making his commitment official to Nebraska, per 247Sports. That list included Northern Illinois, Buffalo and UNLV. He spoke briefly with Scott Burgess of PrepHoops.com on his decision to commit to Nebraska.
“I chose Nebraska because I felt the most comfortable with their program and opportunity,” he told Burgess. “My family also felt most comfortable with them. I prayed about it, and God answered.”
