Green is originally from Denver. He averaged 14.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 50.9 percent from the field, 31.2 percent from 3 and 67.3 percent from the free-throw line as a freshman at Western Nebraska. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound guard is a terrific athlete and a high-level finisher with plus vision for an off-guard.
Green also had offers from Ole Miss, Wichita State, TCU, VCU, Portland State, Houston, Wyoming, Stephen F. Austin and Colorado State.
On Saturday, Nebraska picked up a commitment from 2019 New Hampton (New Hampshire) School point guard Mika Adams-Woods. Nebraska offered both Green and Adams-Woods on the same day, July 23, and now they’ve both chosen the Huskers in the same weekend.
Nebraska currently has two scholarships left to fill for 2019.
Jacob is in his third year with Hail Varsity covering Husker athletics. He has also written extensively for SB Nation’s Bright Side of the Sun and The Creightonian. His love of basketball can best be described as an obsession and if you need to find him, he’s probably in a gym somewhere watching, coaching or playing hoops.
