Nebraska Basketball Partners With Red Cross to Aid Flood Relief

March 19, 2019

Nebraska basketball is joining the #NebraskaStrong movement in response to the recent unprecedented flooding across Nebraska and Southwest Iowa by encouraging all Nebraskans to help in relief efforts through the American Red Cross.

The Huskers announced Tuesday that they will utilize Wednesday’s NIT game versus Butler to collect donations for those in need. To date, 74 cities and 65 counties have been declared a State of Emergency.

The Red Cross, Nebraska Athletics volunteers and student-athletes will collect cash donations inside all entrances of Pinnacle Bank Arena when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. CT until just after tipoff on Wednesday. One hundred percent of the funds collected in PBA at the game will go toward Nebraska/Southwest Iowa flood relief.

Fans unable to make it to to PBA on Wednesday can also donate by texting “red cross” to 90999 to immediately donate $10 (per text) to support disasters such as floods and countless other crises. Fans can also donate at redcross.org (phone service provider will add amount donated to your next bill).
