Nebraska athletic director Shawn Eichorst wasted no time in clearing up Coach Tim Miles job status for next season after Nebraska’s 76-6 overtime loss to Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday. Eichorst took to Twitter immediately after the game to show support for Miles.

The Huskers finished 2016-17 12-19 with five straight losses to end the year. The 19 losses are tied for the most in school history. Miles is 75-86 in five years with Nebraska. He led the Huskers to the NCAA Tournament in 2014 but has finished below .500 in his other four seasons in Lincoln.
Nebraska will lose just one senior in Tai Webster, but he led the team in minutes, points and assists this season.

Jacob is in his third year with Hail Varsity covering Husker athletics. He has also written extensively for SB Nation’s Bright Side of the Sun and The Creightonian. His love of basketball can best be described as an obsession and if you need to find him, he’s probably in a gym somewhere watching, coaching or playing hoops.
