Nebraska snapped its 26-game Big Ten losing streak on Sunday with a 62-61 win over Penn State on the road. Teddy Allen had a team-high 14 points, including the game-winning bucket.
Coach Fred Hoiberg met with the media post-game to discuss the win. He said if Nebraska hadn’t gotten this win—especially after nearly beating Illinois on Friday—he would have considered them “two of the most devastating losses I’d ever been a part of.”
Hoiberg has remained adamant through the losses that his group has the fight to win, but execution has been an issue. He reiterated on Sunday how proud he is of his players as they’ve continue to battle.
“The reality is, we’re 1-9 in league,” Hoiberg said. “But our guys have never stopped caring and I hope our fans can see that.”
