Nebraska was back to competition after a long pause due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the team. In fact, the Huskers’ last played a game on Sunday, Jan. 10. The Huskers ultimately fell 66-56 in their first game back, dropping to 4-9, 0-6 Big Ten on the season.
Part of the issue identified by Coach Fred Hoiberg was missed free throws, which he thinks could have changed how things ended on Saturday.
“If we make half of those free throws, we’re right there and the outcome could have been different,” Hoiberg said post-game. “But I’m proud of them for competing.”
