2020 Nebraska Target Blaise Gunnerson Planning a Few Summer Visits

May 17, 2019

On Thursday, a new Greg’s Guys list dropped and outside linebacker Blaise Gunnerson‍ found himself on the list once again. He came in at No. 9 because he is one of the Nebraska staff’s key targets at outside linebacker. Gunnerson has mostly played defensive end at his high school in Iowa but the Huskers like his versatility and think he can play standing up.

He has visited campus a few times already and the good news is that he told me Thursday evening that he will be back on campus in Lincoln this weekend for an unofficial visit. He will also be setting up an official visit to Nebraska to take at a later date.

The other side of this update is that Gunnerson told me that he will be at Iowa State on June 1 and will participate in the Cyclones’ camp. After that, he will take his official visit to Iowa State June 21–23. The not so great thing about that date is that it should keep him from attending Nebraska’s VIP BBQ and Friday Night Lights camp on June 21.

It’s not a big surprise that Gunnerson is continuing to check out Iowa State. He has a brother that walked on in Ames and that school has been heavily involved in his recruitment since the beginning. At this point, it’s safe to think that this will end up being a Nebraska versus Iowa State battle for the Kuemper Catholic standout.

Based on his visit schedule and wanting to make a decision prior to his senior season, look for Gunnerson to take a summer official to Nebraska.
