This weekend, Nebraska hosted a lot of prospects for the annual Red-White Spring Game. There were a lot of future prospects on hand, including 2021 linebacker Randolph Kpai. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native attends the same high school that produced Matt and Will Farniok.

Kpai picked up an offer from Nebraska when he was in town for Junior Day a couple of weeks ago. I caught up with him to see what was different about this trip, his relationship with inside linebackers coach Barrett Ruud and more.
Here is our full Q&A:
What you were your overall thoughts on the visit for the spring game?
“I liked it. I got a great feel for what a game day will be like at Nebraska. The people there are great. Yeah, I liked it.”
What did you get to do this time in Lincoln after being there for Junior Day before?
“This time we were able to go in the locker room with the players before and after the game. That was pretty cool. We had team meetings and watched film. That was cool.”
Which coach did you get to watch film with?
“I was watching film with Coach Ruud. That one was individual film. Then everyone came in and we talked to the defensive coordinator [Erik Chinander]. He talked about the plan for the day and everyone got hyped for the game.”
Which coaches do you talk to the most at this point?
“I would say Coach Ruud at this point. He’s the guy that is recruiting me right now. I like building that relationship with him. Also, the rest of the staff too so I can get to know the people around the program.”
Did you get a chance to talk with Coach Scott Frost either time you were here?
“I did get to talk to him last time I was here. It was really cool meeting him. He’s a really nice guy too.”
What did you think about your fit within the defense?
“That’s something I have to get more familiar with. I’ll have to come to more practices and watching them. Also, being around the coaching staff and Coach Ruud. Then I’ll know better about that.”
Do you plan to come back for a game in the fall?
“Yes, I plan to come back and get to a game.”
What are some of things you are most looking for in a school?
“Just the people there. That’s what it’s about. Every school has nice facilities and all that. If you don’t get along with the people and trust them, it doesn’t matter.”
