2021 OL Henry Lutovsky Enjoys Time with Husker Recruits

September 16, 2019

Nebraska is continuing to recruit Iowa hard. The Huskers and Hawkeyes engage in a battle yearly on the football field but it wasn’t until recently that Nebraska took the fight to them this much on the recruiting trail. There were several Iowa natives in Lincoln over the weekend to see a night game at Memorial Stadium. They were treated to a 44-8 victory by the Huskers over Northern Illinois.

Henry Lutovsky‍, a 6-foot-6, 325-pound offensive lineman from Mount Pleasant, Iowa, was in town with his family. Lutovsky has already been to Lincoln in the last year having come out for the Big Red BBQ last June. I was able to catch up with him to get his thoughts on the game, being peer recruited, what he’s looking for in a school and more.

Here is our full Q&A:

What did you think of the trip to Nebraska?

“It was great. I really liked everything about it.”

What did you get to do while in Lincoln?

“We ate, played games, watched warmups and watched the game. Most of my time was spent talking to Teddy [Prochazka], Turner [Corcoran] and Nash [Hutmacher].”

How was it talking to those guys?

“It was great. They have very similar personalities to me so it’s fun to be around guys like that.”

Which coaches did you get a chance to talk to while here?

“Coach [Erik] Chinander, [Director of Player Personnel] Sean Dillon, Coach Frost, [Offensive line coach] Austin. There were many others but those were the ones I spent the most time with.”

Which position are they recruiting you for?

“They are recruiting me for offensive line. Coach Chinander is my lead recruiter.”

What do you think about Coach Chinander really going after Iowa guys?

“I think it shows that they are very confident in their program and they can pull kids from Iowa.”

What other visits have you taken this year and do you have more planned?

“I’ve been to Iowa state and Missouri, then next week I’ll be at Wisconsin.”

What are some things you’d say you are looking for most in a future school?

“My biggest thing is that the coaches and players are people I want to be around. Then also I want to be able to get a great education.”

What were the highlights of the trip to Nebraska?

“Being around the players before and after the game was really fun. I liked getting to know them and spend time with them.”
