For over a year now, 2021 outside linebacker TJ Bollers from Tiffin, Iowa, has been one of Nebraska’s top targets for the class of 2021. He’s now been to Lincoln a handful of times over the last year, the most recent being on Friday for the Big Red BBQ.
I was able to catch up with the Clear Creek Amana standout to get his thoughts on hanging out with the team, what his mom thinks of Nebraska and more.
Had a great time back at Nebraska! Thanks @coach_frost @CoachChinander and all of the other coaches for all the love🔥🔥 #GBR @HuskerFBNation pic.twitter.com/53WImLq1NC

Here is the full Q&A from our conversation.
What were your overall thoughts on the visit?
“Overall I had a great time. There was tons to do and a bunch of people to talk to. Being able to be around recruits and just hang out with the dudes was super cool and different.”
After being down to Lincoln a handfuls of times, are you starting to feel comfortable with the guys and the coaches?
“I feel super comfortable around the coaches and around some of the players too. I'd say our relationship is super strong right now.”
Who came with you and what did they think?
“My mom and my sister were with me this time. It was my sister’s first time there and she liked it a lot. It's only the second visit she's been on with me and she's loved them so far. My mom loves it there and she loves the coaches there too and how real they are. They're not just talking to talk they're actually going to back it up.”
There were a bunch of other Iowa guys there, did you notice that and if so what’d you think?
“Yeah, I noticed and a lot were in 2021, too.”
What are some goals you have for yourself and your team this coming season?
“For myself, I'd have to say that a goal would be to be an all-state player along with first-team all-conference and first-team all-district. Another one would be to be consistent with my technique and get better every game as the season goes on.
“Then for the team it's going to be to make it past the first round of playoffs and go to the [state championship game at the] Dome.”
Did you talk about coming back to a game this season and do you plan on it?
“Yeah we did and we do plan on being back without a doubt.”
