2021 OT Teddy Prochazka Praises ‘Special’ Pipeline Camp

June 16, 2019

Over the last year, not many underclassmen in the region have seen their stock rise faster than 2021 Elkhorn South offensive tackle Teddy Prochazka‍. Last year at Nebraska’s Big Man camp, he caught the eye of everyone in attendance and since then has added offers from Iowa State, Michigan and Nebraska among others.

The 6-foot-8, 280-pound lineman was a participant in the Pipeline Camp and I caught up with him on the phone on Sunday to get his thoughts on the camp, being back around the Husker staff and more.

Here is our full Q&A:

What were your overall thoughts on how the camp was set up and run?

“It was a good system. How they organized the entire camp was pretty good going from station to station and one-on-ones. Then flipping offense and defense before having more one-on-ones. There was a lot of kids there and they handled it really well.”

What was it like getting instruction from Husker coaches and players?

“It was pretty special. The Pipeline started with those original players. They were coaching and teaching me new things I’ve never learned before. I used those tips in more drills and the one-on-ones. I’m definitely going to take those skills back to my season and work harder at those skills that they taught me.”

How do you think you performed during the camp?

“I thought I did pretty well. The pass protection one-on-ones went really well for me. Run blocking is something I can always improve on. Other than that, I thought I did pretty good.”

How would you describe being back around the Husker staff?

“It was good. It’s been a while since the last time I was up there so it was good to see all the coaches and players again. I’ll be up there next Friday for the BBQ, too.”

Which new offers did you pick up yesterday (Saturday)?

“It was just Arizona State. Miami wants me to come down and see their facilities. They didn’t want to throw out an offer if I wasn’t serious about going there so they want me to come down there first.”

Do you have any other visits planned for the rest of the summer?

“I’m planning on going to the Northwestern BBQ on July 27. That’s the only other one that I have right now, other than that I am pretty much free.”

What are some goals you have individually and for your team this season?

“I want to make my team better at every practice. The mutual consensus of the team is that we all want to get better as a team. We are keeping track of attendance at weight lifting. We are getting stronger as a team so we can make it further in the playoffs. We want to show we belong in Class A.”

What are some things you are looking for in a school?

“I want a good connection with the offensive line coach. I want a good connection with the team itself before I make a decision. Really the entire coaching staff at the school.”
