The Georgia native took an official visit to Nebraska for the Ohio State game. He is now the third prospect that took an official visit for that game who has since committed to Nebraska. There have been four total commits that visited for that game. Offensive tackle, an unofficial visitor that day and 2021 prospect, Teddy Prochazka started the run by committing just before kickoff.
Coming into Black’s official-visit weekend the Huskers were in a strong position with the Eagles’s Landing Christian standout. He had his official visit on the books going back to the summer. Black took a summer official to Arizona and had interest in Kentucky and Virginia Tech. He held 14 scholarship offers.
Before making his announcement public, Black told Hail Varsity the biggest factors in him choosing Nebraska.
“The coaching staff and the school’s academic program,” Black responded.
The defender stands at 6-foot-2, 290-pounds. He has the ability to play all three defensive line positions. Yet, watching his film, he would be very good as a quicker nose tackle with strength to hold up at the point of attack. He will pair nicely with Nebraska’s other defensive tackle commit for this cycle, Nash Hutmacher.
The Huskers now have 14 known commitments for the class of 2020. Nebraska has hit the South hard this cycle with eight commitments from the region.
