The Huskers just added their first inside linebacker to the 2020 recruiting class.
On Friday, 3-star (HV Rating: 88.0) linebacker Rodney Groce committed to Nebraska. He announced his decision on Twitter.

Groce took an official visit to Lincoln last weekend for the big matchup with Ohio State. While that game didn’t go as planned, it didn’t deter the defender who stands at 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds from joining the class. When Hail Varsity caught up with Groce on Thursday evening, he explained what the best part of his trip to Lincoln was.
“Just being able to be around the great fans,” he said. “Seeing the great atmosphere Nebraska has and being able to talk to all the coaches in person was great too.”

Linebacker is the biggest need for this recruiting cycle. Nebraska already has one outside linebacker and look to take at least one more. Groce is the No. 2 inside linebacker in Alabama. He gives the Huskers a thumper in the middle that will be able to hold up in run support in the Big Ten.
The Alabama native picked the Huskers over Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. He holds 27 scholarship offers. Groce is Nebraska’s 12th known commitment. He is on track to graduate early and enroll at Nebraska this January.
