New defensive line coach Tony Tuioti is making his presence known on the recruiting trail early in his tenure. One of the first offers he made when he got the job at Nebraska was to 4-star (HV Rating: 91.0) defensive tackle Jamar Sekona. Now the Marin Catholic standout has informed Hail Varsity that he will be attending the spring game on Saturday, April 13.

“Can’t wait,” Sekona said in his tweet. But what is he the most excited about to see while in Lincoln?
“I want to experience the culture, football, fans and everything they have to offer,” he said.
Tuioti was recruiting the defender pretty hard at Cal befoe he left to take the Huskers job. That strong relationship is what sparked the interest in the Huskers by Sekona.
“We have a really strong relationship he knows me and what I can bring to the team and I know what he can do to turn players into the best on the field and in life,” Sekona said of his relationship with Tuioti.
The 6-foot-3 and 305 pound nose tackle is still pretty raw as a prospect since he didn’t start playing football until high school. Still, he has seen his stock rise significantly recently and holds double-digit scholarship offers. He said that his coach, Mazi Moayed, and some family will join him on the trip to the spring game.
Nose tackle could be a position where Nebraska takes more than one this cycle as the Huskers look to build depth. There are a good amount of quality prospects who play the position with interest in Nebraska.
