On Wednesday, 4-star linebacker Kaden Johnson, one of the top prospects in the state of Minnesota, dropped in on Huskers practice. He was joined by a large group with Tyrone Carter Elite Training Schools, operated by former Minnesota and NFL star Tyrone Carter. The defender stands at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds. He holds double digit scholarship offers, including Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State and Nebraska.
I caught up with him as the group was on the road heading out of Lincoln to get his thoughts on the visit and more.

What were your overall thoughts on the trip?
“Nebraska was amazing for the little time that I was there. I [want to] come down again with my family. It was an amazing trip.”
What were some of your favorite parts about the trip?
“Probably talking with Coach [Scott] Frost and watching the practice. It was amazing. I enjoyed the up-tempo practice. It is very different from other schools for sure.”
What did you get to do during your time on campus?
“We got to see the players lounge and we got to see the trophy room and after that we went to the practice.”
I saw that you got a chance to talk to inside linebackers coach Barrett Ruud during practice. Has he been your main recruiter?
“My main recruiter had been [outside linebackers] Coach [Jovan] Dewitt but he wasn’t there today. Coach Ruud was a super cool coach and I can’t wait to build a relationship with him.”
What would you say are some things you are most looking for in a school?
“Probably my number one or two is having a tight relationship with the head coach, then after that I would say my education is very serious and to be able to compete for a starting spot.”
What other schools would you say that you are considering most right now?
“I’m not sure honestly. I’m considering every school that has offered me and I’m super grateful for the love all the schools show me.”
