Nebraska already has one big 2018 scheduled visitor for the Ohio State game in No. 2 Greg’s Guy Talanoa Hufanga but a player that will surely be on the 2019 list has now confirmed to me that he will be at the game as well.
Four-star quarterback Max Duggan (6’2, 175) told me that he will be attending the game. The junior from Council Bluffs, Iowa, will be a priority target for next year’s class and is likely now the top target at the position. If the staff continues to trend in the direction of not taking a quarterback in the 2018 class, Duggan becomes all that much more important to land in 2019.
Duggan attended both Friday Night Lights camps in June, and it was great for the Huskers to get him on campus among other commits and big-time wide receiver targets he could potentially be throwing to in the future.
Duggan has been well-coached and has a very strong arm. He injured his thumb on his throwing hand this year and missed most of his season so far, but should recover just fine. He is a four-sport athlete who has solid mobility to maneuver in the pocket and get out of trouble.
Nebraska will likely be in a battle with Iowa and Iowa State for Duggan, who is very familiar with those coaching staffs. Getting him on campus for a night-game atmosphere will be another good step in his recruitment.
