4-Star Tommy Bush Reviews the Memorial Stadium Atmosphere

October 09, 2017

Nebraska had a number of high-profile visitors on campus this weekend to take in the game against Wisconsin. One of those visitors was 4-star wide receiver Tommy Bush‍ from Clemens High School in Texas. The wideout has the size (6-5, 187) that is needed in the Nebraska wideout room but the speed to be a game breaker that could be a nightmare for Big Ten defenses.

He’s also a track star in high school having blazed a 100-meter time of 10.7 seconds last year

He and his parents made it to Lincoln Friday ahead of the rain and starting seeing the campus immediately.

“They took us out to eat first, then we took a school tour and watched the practice walk through," Bush said. "Then after that my parents went out to eat with Coach [Keith Williams] for dinner and I went out to eat with the team and talked to them.”

Bush says that his parents really enjoyed the detailed education part of the presentation. They got to tour the new College of Business in Howard L. Hawks Hall, which they thought was very nice. Bush intends to major in Sports Management with a minor in something business related.

When it comes to the game day experience, Bush really enjoyed it and it’s fair to say it exceeded his expectations.

“I guess it was a lot better than I thought it would be," he said. "I’ve heard great things about it but I wanted to see it for myself. It was a great experience. Nebraska football is just different.”

I’ve talked to Bush before about what he wanted to see from the Nebraska offense so I knew he would have thoughts on what he saw Saturday night. He wanted to see how the offense utilized their wideouts and how involved they were. He thought the game plan was good, but they will be short on receivers next year and need some help. He’s talked to Coach Williams about the need that exists with how few bodies they have at the position.

Bush and his family recently went to Baylor on an unofficial visit and took many unofficials over the summer to narrow down his list of schools. He does not have any other official visits lined up at this time.

“We’ll know who we want to commit to sometime around December, but I’ll make the public announcement at the Under Armour game, in that time frame," Bush said. "Nebraska is one of my top priorities.”
