Nebraska added to its pass-catching corps on Wednesday with the commitment of 4-star wide receiver Alante Brown. Originally from Illinois, Brown played the 2019 season at St. Thomas More, a prep school in Connecticut. He committed to the Huskers during a signing-day ceremony in Chicago.

Brown received his Nebraska offer on Dec. 2 and visited Lincoln a week later. He also took December visits to Ole Miss and Maryland and made game-week visits to Indiana and Michigan State in October.
A three-year starter at quarterback at Chicago's Simeon High School, Brown signed with Texas Tech as a member of the 2019 class before going the prep-school route. He was a do-everything athlete for St. Thomas More, catching passes, lining up in the backfield and returning kicks. Brown (5-10, 180) threw for 41 touchdowns as a senior at Simeon and rushed for 12 more, earning all-state honors.
Brown will be in Lincoln soon as an early enrollee in January. He confirmed that during his announcement decision on Big Ten Network.
