Well, you can cross one potential 2019 recruit off the list for Nebraska.
Matthew Pola-Mao, a 3-star (HV Rating: 87.6) defensive tackle from Phoenix, Arizona, has been closely linked with the Huskers for some time now. It’s been well-documented that Pola-Mao and his cousin Noa Pola-Gates wanted to play together in college and it appeared it was heading that direction at Nebraska.
Hail Varsity has been informed directly by Pola-Mao that the official visit to Lincoln will not happen after all. In fact, he has had very little contact with the Huskers for the last two weeks. USC, who had also been in the picture previously, hasn’t talked much to him recently either.
Pola-Mao picked up an offer from Kansas State today.

He is trying to now pivot and work on confirming an official visit to Manhattan to check out the Wildcats.
There has been a lot of debate over whether or not adding another defensive tackle in January was a need for Nebraska in the 2019 class. The addition of graduate transfer Darrion Daniels to the mix on the defensive line helps so it would have been a nice luxury to take a high school defensive tackle to develop. Norfolk Catholic’s Ethan Piper is currently slated to start his career on the defensive line.
The Huskers will focus on 2020 defensive tackle prospects now, mainly 4-star Nash Hutmacher who has been a frequent visitor to Lincoln.

As he got older and had to hang up his cleats and sneakers, he realized his passion for sports went beyond just watching and attending games. He is married to an amazing woman, Kim, and they have a dog that barks when Greg yells at the TV during games.
