Arizona pass rusher Regen Terry visited Lincoln in June with his dad for an unofficial visit. The Arizona defender stands at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds.
A couple of months later, Terry was back in Lincoln this weekend for an official visit. He was one of six official visitors this weekend. All six prospects are defensive players. Both of his parents also made the trip to see the Huskers beat Northern Illinois under the lights, 44-8. Terry was eager to return to Lincoln and see a game. The visit lived up to his expectations heading in.
“The visit was awesome overall,” Terry said. “Everyone was fantastic with me and my parents. What stood out the most was people in the program and fans.”
While Terry and his family were in Lincoln they had a full weekend of activities. He got to tour the facilities for a second time around which he enjoyed. They also got to have a pregame meal with the team and coaches. Terry’s parents came away with a favorable impression of what Nebraska has to offer.
“I already went there with my dad and knew he would be impressed,” Terry explained. “My mom liked it too and would be comfortable sending me there.”
It’s noteworthy that Terry’s mom is comfortable sending him to Nebraska. Both Terry’s father and brother are over at Boston College right now. Boston College is in his top six. Terry currently has no other visits planned after Nebraska and he continues to build his relationship with Huskers staff.
“I talked with a lot of coaches,” Terry said. “But the main people were Coach [Erik] Chinander and Coach [Tony] Tuitoi. Things are really good. We walk two or three times a week so the relationship is great.”
Terry says that it was cool hanging out with the other recruits in attendance. He spent a lot of time talking to fellow defender Nusi Malani and his player host was Mosai Newsom.
“It was cool hanging out with the guys,” Terry said. “They want you to feel a part of the team.”
Before the trip Terry told Hail Varsity that that he was looking for quality people to be around for college. After the visit he said that he did find that in Lincoln. When asked about the most memorable thing about the trip, his answer was like a lot of Husker fans.
“The tunnel walk for sure.”
