Now that Nebraska’s coaches are all done with their split vacations and back in the offices, we have seen a lot of new offers go out, mostly to 2019 prospects and a select few 2020 players. It’s still too early to gain any real intel based on the offers alone, however the lack of new 2019 QB offers is something to keep an eye on. Nebraska may feel good about the one of the eight QBs they have offered so far or want more time to evaluate. One thing is for sure, Nebraska will hit the JUCO market hard for offensive tackles so check out my update on Bamidele Olaseni.

Additional Recon
>>In addition to hitting the junior college ranks for offensive linemen, Nebraska will certainly look to add prep players to the room. Three-star offensive lineman Ben Coleman (Hail Varsity Rating: 86) picked up an offer recently from Nebraska. The lineman (6-3, 300) from Linfield Christian School in Temecula, California, has only been in contact with the staff for about a week or so. He got the offer from offensive coordinator Troy Walters. I asked him if Nebraska was currently in his top group.
“I haven’t cut a list down because I’ve only been able to visit a couple schools [that] have offered me," he said. "It’s a big offer and I’ll be able to determine if it’s one of my tops after I visit.”
Whenever a prospect says an offer is big, I perk up because that school usually stays in the running for him. Nebraska is working on getting Coleman to Lincoln this spring.
>>Unrated wide receiver Deshon Stoudemire from Stone Mountain, Georgia, tweeted something you may have missed this week but is rather important.
1st official visit West Virginia, 2nd official visit Nebraska, 3rd ??????
I will be committing in April‼️— UnoDaShow‼️ (@D1deshon) February 27, 2018
The wideout has double-digit offers to his name including Michigan State, Auburn and Louisville. I caught up with him briefly after he tweeted about wanting to commit in April. He says that he is in contact most with Walters, and doesn’t yet have a date set for his visit to Lincoln.
>>This week Nebraska offered Norfolk Catholic standout, Ethan Piper. The unrated lineman could play either offensive line or defensive line in college, but right now Nebraska is looking at him as a defensive lineman. After getting his offer, he did tell me he will be attending Iowa’s junior day this weekend because he wanted to keep his word. I don’t expect this to drag out very long into next week before he becomes the third in-state member of the 2019 recruiting class.
>>As reported on Twitter by his mon, Khalil Davis suffered a thumb injury squatting and had surgery.
Khalil’s surgery went well. He should recover within 3 weeks. Thank you for all of your prayers. God is good!

It doesn’t look like Davis will miss any time this spring so we are looking at just a minor bump in the road for him.

As he got older and had to hang up his cleats and sneakers, he realized his passion for sports went beyond just watching and attending games. He is married to an amazing woman, Kim, and they have a dog that barks when Greg yells at the TV during games.
