The 6-3, 205-pound linebacker has continued to see his stock rise over the last year. The past few months saw him pick up a range of Big Ten offers including Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota and others. The Huskers were the first to offer him back in November. The program always made Hausmann feel like a priority as he told Hail Varsity back in January.
“I think it’s a good relationship,” Hausmann said. “They are clearly making an effort to grow our relationship. I’m seeing that. I’m looking forward to growing the relationship as well. It’s been really awesome experience just communicating with them and learning more about Nebraska.”

In-state recruiting has become a huge storyline for Nebraska. There are currently five prospects with Husker offers. A pair of them—Deshawn Woods and Devon Jackson—have eliminated the Huskers from contention already. Locking down talent from inside the borders is always important. Signing ones that could play in the Big Ten is even more critical for a rebuilding program.
Hausmann was clear in January there would be not flipping back and forth once he made his announcement.
“I’m going to choose a school that I’ll be 100% committed to,” Hausmann said. “There will be no doubt in my mind that I want to play at that school. A lot of that has to do with the relationships with the coaches. Because you’ll be spending a lot of time with them through your years there. I’m going to be going to a college that I’m all in bought into.”
