Nebraska had a very important offensive line target for the 2020 class on campus forr the second Friday Night Lights camp. Four-star offensive tackle Turner Corcoran (6-6, 270) from Lawrence Free State in Lawrence, Kansas, made the trip to Lincoln with his high school coach who happens to be a huge Husker fan.
I was able to catch up with Corcoran on Saturday morning to get his thoughts on his second trip to Lincoln in two months. When I asked him about his overall visit he really seemed to enjoy the extra time he got to spend getting to know everyone in and around the program.
“It was really great to talk with all the commits and players that are in the program right now”, Corcoran said. “It was a great experience getting to sit down and talk with Coach [Greg] Austin some more, Coach [Scott] Frost some more and Coach [Ryan] Held. It was really great because I’m getting to build a relationship. I’m looking forward to coming down for a game this fall. I’m not quite sure yet which game but I’m looking forward to it.”
Had a great time yesterday in Lincoln! Thank you coaches for having me down @coach_frost @GregAustin2717 @CoachRHeld @SeanDillonNU #GBR #Huskers pic.twitter.com/zDijc7ZMmd

Back in May when Corcoran visited, he raved about the facilities in Lincoln. He and his mom were impressed with the sports nutrition side of things and how a lot of science goes into the everyday lives of athletes at Nebraska. What did he get to do this time around that was different?
“During my visit in May I wasn’t really able to talk to many players," he said. "I was able to talk to one incoming freshman and that was it. This time, I was able to talk to more of the offensive linemen and get to know them more. Also, I got to talk to the commits more plus get more in depth with more football stuff from Coach Austin.”
During the time I spent observing the big man from Kansas during the camp, he was always surrounded by coaches and/or players and looked to be having a good time. Since the players are also getting to know the coaching staff, what’s his assessment of the vibe between the players and the staff?
“You know, they really like the staff. They say that Coach Austin and Coach Frost really care about you as a player and a person. They are going to treat you like one of their own kids but coach you hard. They will treat you like one of their own. I really like to hear that from the players,” Corcoran said.
Corcoran says that he got to sit down with strength coach Zach Duval and he thinks Duval is a really great guy and really likes him. The prospect really likes that Duval is straightforward and to the point because he knows he’ll be pushed hard to be the best person he can possibly be. Earlier, Corcoran mentioned being excited to check out a game in the fall so what has him excited?
“Definitely the fans. I’ve heard that place gets rocking during games," he said. "I really want to experience that first hand for sure.”

Greg is the Recruiting Analyst for Hail Varsity and has covered Husker athletics since 2013. He has always had a passion for sports while growing up in the Chicago area. As he got older and had to hang up his cleats and sneakers, he realized his passion for sports went beyond just watching and attending games. He has covered many events from the Rose Bowl to championship boxing matches. If he’s not talking sports, he’s hovering over his grill. He is married to an amazing woman, Kim, and they have a dog that barks when Greg yells at the TV during games.
