The walk-on fullback pipeline has been revived at Nebraska.
Cross County soon-to-be running back Izaac Dickey announced on Sunday he’ll join a lineage of native Nebraskans by walking on as part of the Huskers’ 2024 recruiting class. Dickey, 5-foot-10, 210-pounds, impressed coaches at Nebraska’s fullback camp. He returned for the Friday Night Lights camp and took a visit the weekend of June 17.

The Stromsburg standout runs the shuttle in 4.2 seconds and the 40 in 4.66 while squatting 555 pounds and deadlifting 600. He plays fullback and linebacker for the 8-man Cross County team. He had limited carries last season until the final two games, when he ran for 255 and 122 yards, respectively, on 24 carries each. His previous high was 127 yards on 13 carries against Twin River.
Dickey is the second known walk-on in Nebraska’s 2024 recruiting class, first native Nebraskan. New Jersey specialist Nico Ottomanelli announced his intentions to walk on as part of the 2024 class last week.
