Damion Daniels Picks the Huskers

February 01, 2017

Nebraska’s signing day on the defensive line is going about as well as possible. After some concern over a late flip, Florida defensive end Guy Thomas stuck with Nebraska. Not long after that, the Huskers added to the class as defensive tackle Damion Daniels (3-star, 86.9) picked Nebraska over Colorado and Texas-San Antonio during a live announcement on ESPNU.

Daniels (6-3, 315) is a big get for the Huskers as they transition to a 3-4 defense under new defensive coordinator Bob Diaco. While a bit tall for the prototypical nose tackle, Daniels at least has the weight to potentially man the middle for Nebraska.

Daniels’ commitment pushes the Huskers’ class to 20 at this point, with a handful of announcements on the West Coast still to come. Get the schedule here.
