On Wednesday, 4-star (HV Rating: 92.9) athlete Wandale Robinson signed his letter of intent to become a Husker. He is my No. 1 Early Signing Day Greg’s Guy.

Though listed as an athlete, I’d count him toward the wide receiver numbers for this class, putting him in the group with Jamie Nance and Darien Chase. Robinson is another huge piece to the offensive puzzle that Frost and his staff are trying to build in Lincoln. He had a sensational senior season with 3,112 total yards and 47 total touchdowns. For good measure, he has 119 tackles on defense with 12.0 tackles for loss.
Robinson is the exact type of five-tool player that running backs coach Ryan Held wants in his room. He will also work with offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Troy Walters. Here is what Robinson told Hail Varsity about what his role will be after he committed to Nebraska.
“Both running back and receiver,” Robinson said. “I’ll be in Coach Held’s room and Coach Walters’ room for meetings. It’s really just being a dynamic guy in the offense. Coach Frost says that’s what he needs to really make the offense go, he needs someone that can play both.“
I believe that Robinson has the potential to have a Rondale Moore-type of impact at Nebraska. He’s that good. The key difference here is that Robinson won’t have to do as much in the Huskers’ offense because Adrian Martinez, JD Spielman and Maurice Washington are already in Lincoln.
Robinson will get a jump start on his college career when he enrolls early next month.

Greg is the Recruiting Analyst for Hail Varsity and has covered Husker athletics since 2013. He has always had a passion for sports while growing up in the Chicago area. As he got older and had to hang up his cleats and sneakers, he realized his passion for sports went beyond just watching and attending games. He has covered many events from the Rose Bowl to championship boxing matches. If he’s not talking sports, he’s hovering over his grill. He is married to an amazing woman, Kim, and they have a dog that barks when Greg yells at the TV during games.
