On Wednesday, 4-star (HV Rating: 92.1) defensive end Ty Robinson signed his letter of intent to become a Husker. He is my No. 2 Early Signing Day Greg’s Guy.

Robinson was a huge signing-day victory for Nebraska. The Huskers beat out Alabama, USC, and Oregon to win his signature. The Higley High standout and U.S. Army All-American has long been Nebraska’s top target on the defensive line. He has been to Lincoln multiple times since last summer, including his official visit for the Michigan State game on Senior Day. Going into that visit, Robinson wanted to see how the culture changed from visiting Lincoln in the spring to that day in November.
“It was crazy,” Robinson said after the visit. “The players have bought in. We knew that the fans and the people around Nebraska football bought in, but it was great to see the players have bought in. They couldn’t stop smiling every time Scott Frost’s name comes up. You can definitely tell they love the guy. Some of the seniors were bummed they don’t get to play with him the next few years.”
After he signed, that ensured that Nebraska locked up some of the highest-rated recruits on its board, including Wandale Robinson, Bryce Benhart and Nick Henrich. It’s hard to consider the class anything but a success after pulling that off. The defender is a classic 3-4 defensive end who has the potential to be an All-Big Ten player once he gets his chance.
Robinson will enroll and arrive in Lincoln this the summer.

Greg is the Recruiting Analyst for Hail Varsity and has covered Husker athletics since 2013. He has always had a passion for sports while growing up in the Chicago area. As he got older and had to hang up his cleats and sneakers, he realized his passion for sports went beyond just watching and attending games. He has covered many events from the Rose Bowl to championship boxing matches. If he’s not talking sports, he’s hovering over his grill. He is married to an amazing woman, Kim, and they have a dog that barks when Greg yells at the TV during games.
