Everything Just Felt Right For Husker Tight End Commit Chase Androff

June 08, 2021

The Huskers picked up commitment number three for the 2022 recruiting class on Monday when Minnesota tight end Chase Androff committed to the program. Androff was part of a large official visitor group over the weekend. The Huskers brought in eight prospects. The weekend couldn’t have gone better for Androff and his family.

“Everything I saw over the weekend really helped solidify my decision, Androff said. “I really liked Nebraska from the start. And it really just felt right.”

Androff’s family had a feeling that he wanted to commit to the Huskers based on how the trip was going. They were very supportive of his decision and felt it was the right thing for him. How the tight end (6-6, 230) told the Nebraska coaching staff was pretty unique.

“I was actually in their office Sunday and they could kind of tell I was ready,” Androff said. “Coach Frost told me to just wait a couple of days. Make sure I feel right about everything and make sure that I’m comfortable. So, I called them today. They pretty much knew, but they’re super excited for me.”

Frost’s approach there was a big hit with Androff and his family. That made the latest Husker commit feel good knowing the type of person Frost is. He was glad to not be pressured into a commitment right away. Androff’s whole family thought that showed Frost’s and the program’s character.

There was another thing that put things over the top for Nebraska with Androff.

“Definitely their academics”, Androff said. “They showed us everything they do for the athletes and pretty much throughout the meeting they were like telling us rankings like Academic All-Americans. Plus, the money spent in nutrition. They were pretty much number one in everything you could really imagine.”

The strength and conditioning presentation was another thing that caught Androff’s attention. He was impressed during his meetings with how things are tailored to each individual player.

Androff is featured on a high school team that doesn’t use wide receivers. It’s a run-heavy program where he is able to showcase his blocking ability at the point of attack. For his upcoming senior season, he just wants to work on getting bigger, strong and faster. Androff is also still weighing his options on enrolling early at Nebraska.
