Explosive 3-Star Running Back Kewan Lacy Chooses Nebraska From Loaded Offer List

June 26, 2023

The college football dominos fell in Nebraska’s favor this past weekend, leading to a coveted 3-star running back committing to the Huskers.

Kewan Lacy, a 6-foot, 200-pound dynamic running back out of Lancaster, Texas, pledged to Nebraska on Monday after his official visit. Lacy was tied to Ole Miss in the recruiting process but had not yet taken an official visit to Oxford. He visited Arizona State, Miami and Baylor before coming to Nebraska.

Michigan, Alabama, Penn State, Michigan State, Oregon, Florida State, Tennessee, Utah, Ohio State and Texas A&M were among the three dozens of schools who offered him. Lacy ran for 1,352 yards and 13 touchdowns on 135 carries at Fort Worth Nolan Catholic, a private school, as a sophomore. His production dipped slightly when competing in public school but still managed 730 yards and 11 touchdowns on 121 attempts at Lancaster. He also had 226 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 15 catches as a junior. Lacy made first-team all-district at the conclusion of that season. He ran 10.79 and 10.81 in the track season this spring.

The Lancaster standout is ranked the No. 58 recruit out of Texas in the 2024 recruiting class by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.

Lacy is now the No. 18 commitment in Nebraska’s 2024 class and first running back in that group. He’s the sixth Texan to join the class,
