Matt Rhule and his coaching staff secured another commitment ahead of Early National Signing Day. And this one is homegrown.
Gretna 3-star lineman Mason Goldman announced his decision to commit to Nebraska on Monday night. Goldman is a composite 3-star athlete and ranked No. 11 in Nebraska in the 2023 recruiting class.

Goldman, 6 foot 6, 260 pounds, received offers from Missouri and Kansas State before Nebraska’s interim coaching staff finally offered him a scholarship on October 13. Vanderbilt offered him weeks later and those two final schools became his two finalists as the season went on. Goldman also held offers from Arizona State, Memphis and a dozen others.
The new Nebraska coaching staff, led by head coach Matt Rhule, included Goldman in their plans to maintain talent in Nebraska and visited Goldman at school and home. Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield joined the visit.

Goldman played on both lines for the 2021 Class A State Champion Dragons and the 2022 runner ups. His blocking as an offensive tackle helped provide Gretna’s high-powered offense ample time to fire away. As a defensive end he managed 53 tackles, 27 solo, with 17 TFLs.
Goldman is now Nebraska’s 19th recruit in the 2023 class, 22nd including portal arrivals. Nebraska ranks No. 43 in the composite recruiting rankings, 8th in the Big Ten.
