The Nebraska staff has hit the road for another week of in-home visits. With National Signing Day only a week away, it’s crunch time as the staff looks to round out its 2017 class. As the staff logs frequent flyer milers, we’re keeping track of where everyone is.
To kick things off, we’re looking at Monday, Jan. 23 and Tuesday, Jan. 24. More to come later in the week.
Monday, Jan. 23
Willie Hampton | LB | Plantation, Florida

Coach Mike Riley and linebackers coach Trent Bray made their way to West Palm Beach, Florida, to visit 3-star linebacker commit Willie Hampton Monday night. Hampton has been committed to Nebraska since March 9, 2016.

While this tweet was technically sent on Jan. 24, it referenced Donte Williams’ Monday travel, which was basically a cross-country marathon. It wasn’t immediately clear via Twitter who Williams went to see, but it would make some sense if he stopped in to visit 4-star CB Deommodore Lenoir while in California.
Tuesday, Jan. 24
Matt Sichterman | OL | Kings Mills, Ohio

Riley joined offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh on a trip to Ohio to see 3-star offensive lineman Matt Sichterman. He verbally committed to the Huskers on May 5, 2016 and appears to be ready for National Signing Day based on Twitter.
CJ Verdell | RB | Chula Vista, Californa

As Riley and Cavanaugh went east, offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf made a trip west to California. He went to see current Oregon commit CJ Verdell. Verdell is a 3-star running back from Chula Vista, California.

Langsdorf didn’t go alone though. Running backs coach Reggie Davis also made the trip to see Verdell.
Where’s everyone headed next? We’ll keep you updated. In the meantime, looks like everyone is caffeinated and on the final week before National Signing Day, that’s half the battle.
