Husker Football Coaches Hit the Recruiting Trail

October 07, 2016

It may be Nebraska’s bye week but that doesn’t mean the coaches are resting. Instead, head coach Mike Riley and his staff will hit the recruiting trail Saturday, making stops all over the country to “spread the red.”

Where will they be heading? The Huskers’ football Twitter shared a series of awesome GIFs that showed exactly where each coach will be this weekend.

Riley and Williams will be heading to Los Angeles, California, and then to Houston, Texas.

Also heading to Los Angeles is running backs coach Reggie Davis. With so many recruits in or around the Los Angeles area, it makes sense for the coaches to head that way. For Davis, he is likely visiting running back Stephen Carr.

Defensive backs coach Brian Stewart will also be in Los Angeles before making the trip north to Sacramento.

Look out, Seattle, Washington. Offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh is heading your way. He will likely head south of Seattle to Graham, Washington, to see five-star offensive tackle Foster Sarell. Sarell took an official visit to Nebraska for the Fresno State game.

Big team heading to Dallas, Texas. Expect them to stop in and say hi to recent defensive tackle commit Deiontae Watts. They may also make a pitstop to say hi to Damion Daniels and Chevin Calloway of Bishop Dunne High School. Both have visited Nebraska already this season.

Special teams coordinator Bruce Read will be in Oklahoma City, which is a part of his recruiting territory.

Last but not least, defensive coordinator Mark Banker will be in Arizona. Tyler Johnson, a four-star athlete, is from Gilbert, Arizona. With the option to play defensive end, Banker likely wants to check in on Johnson.

Safe travels, everyone!
