The Huskers dipped into California to add another linebacker to the 2021 recruiting class.
Will Schweitzer, a 3-star (HV Rating: 88.5) outside linebacker from Los Gatos, California, committed to Nebraska on Thursday.

The edge rusher, who stands at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, was supposed to visit Nebraska in the spring but wasn’t able due to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Los Gatos High School standout has been highly productive the last two seasons. During that time, he’s racked up 218 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and six sacks.
The latest Huskers commit held 22 scholarship offers. Most teams projected him to outside linebacker at the college level but some liked him at inside linebacker. Others even liked him at tight end where he has also played well for his high school team. He’ll join a talented Husker linebacker group coming to Lincoln. It includes Randolph Kpai, Patrick Payton, Chris Paul Jr. and Seth Malcom.

Schweitzer has a similar build to Payton, the other outside linebacker commitment in the class. Both are rangy, athletic players who have great frames to build on at the college level. Payton and Schweitzer have also both produced well against top levels of competition.
The Huskers are now up to 10 known commitments for the 2021 class.
