For the second home game in a row, Nebraska will have a big-time 2019 visitor on campus for an unofficial visit.
This week against Northern Illinois, Nebraska will host 2019 4-star offensive lineman Will Putnam out of Tampa, Florida. Putnam attends Plant High School. I was able to catch up with Putnam to chat about his upcoming visit.
“I'm most looking forward to being able to come back up to Nebraska with my dad,” he said. “I had a fantastic time last time when I was at Nebraska and I'm sure he will also. And the coaches are great people and so are the amazing fans that support the Huskers.”
Putnam first visited the Huskers last spring. He has a nice offer list with Georgia, Miami, LSU, Iowa, Ohio State, Penn State, UCLA and others chasing the tackle prospect. He tells me that he doesn’t have a timeline for a decision now and is still evaluating everyone.
“I don't really have an exact time on when I'm going to decide,” he said. “Right now I'm still looking into schools and learning more about them and seeing if I'm a fit. I don't plan on committing any time soon.”
It’s still early in Putnam’s recruitment but you can’t see it as anything but a good sign that he is eager to show his father the campus and atmosphere in Lincoln.
