The Huskers just received an immediate boost to the defense. That’s because Nadab Joseph—the top junior college cornerback from the 2020 recruiting class—announced that he will be joining Nebraska. He made his decision public on Twitter.

Athletically, Joseph (6-2, 193) gives the Huskers a top-flight athlete for defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Travis Fisher to utilize. The former Independence Community College standout has some very good verified testing numbers from a couple years back. He ran a laser timed 4.41 40-yard dash, had a 42.5 inch vertical and 11-foot broad jump.
The Keem Green situation last season will make people nervous to predict what type of role Joseph can have in Lincoln this fall. However, unless Joseph comes to Lincoln completely out of shape, it hard to see him not having some type of role immediately for Nebraska. It’s easier to knock any rust off playing farther from the line of scrimmage as well.
The Huskers had one scholarship spot left to give from the 2020 class and have been working on landing Joseph for a long time. The Florida native is also a bit of an outlier because he still has three years of eligibility left.
Joseph was heavily recruited out of high school at Miami Norland High School. At one point he was committed to LSU and then Alabama before finally landing with Georgia. He took a year off due to academic concerns which is when he ended up at Independence.
As a late addition, Joseph is now the third defensive back in the 2020 recruiting class. He will join Ronald Delancy III and Tamon Lynum as 2020 prospects when he arrives on campus.
