The Nebraska home opener for the 2021 season is just days away. Things can always change but the Huskers are scheduled to have one official visitor in town. The game against Fordham could be light on 2022 visitors. There is one important player making his way to Lincoln. Florida wide receiver commit Victor Jones Jr. Is scheduled to be in Lincoln for the first time.
There is a lot that Jones Jr. (6-2, 185) will get to see while in Lincoln. He’ll get the full red-carpet treatment as the only official visitor. There is something that he’s looking forward to.
“Definitely meeting the coaches and getting to see the campus,” Jones Jr. said.

The Florida playmaker didn’t immediately do an official visit this summer. He was already committed so there was a little concern from the fan base about that. He and his family actually did plan to come up during the summer but it didn’t go as planned.
Checking out the home opener for his future school was the next best date. His high school team is on a bye week this week so the dates line up perfectly. When he comes to Lincoln this weekend his parent will join him. They are also looking forward to seeing where their son will spend his college days.
Jones Jr. was one of the hot names on the camp circuit in Florida this offseason. He followed that up with a strong performance in his first game of the season. He racked up six catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns. The wideout has sound reasoning for working so hard this summer.
“It’s just about never being satisfied,” Jones Jr. said. “A lot of people when they commit just relax and layback until they get to college. I’m trying to come into the offensive system at Nebraska as best as I can be and go from there.”
The talented recruit will be enrolling early at Nebraska. He’ll get a jump start on showing what he can do in college.
