Earlier this month, I was tipped off that 4-star wide receiver Michael Ezeike was going to be visiting Nebraska for the Rutgers game. Ezeike (6-5, 220) can play either tight end or wide receiver in college but wide receivers coach Keith Williams, not graduate assistant/tight ends coach Tavita Thompson is his primary recruiter so he’s being recruited to Nebraska as a wide receiver.
Ezeike released a top seven that did not include Nebraska, but he told me that needs to be updated to include Nebraska since they offered him after he released it.
I have an update to the visit. Ezeike told me tonight that he will not be making the trip to Nebraska and that he and Coach Williams are talking about a better date when his mom can make the trip. Instead Ezeike said he plans to visit Arizona State this weekend.
Ezeike is an intriguing prospect because he has the size and versatility to play in-line at tight end or out wide. Watching his film, he doesn’t really shy away from contact and could fit in really nicely as a wide receiver in the Big Ten. He’d definitely add another versatile weapon to the receiver room at Nebraska.
Ezeike is unclear at this time when he and his mother will be able to reschedule the trip to Nebraska. Currently 4-star defensive back Christian Tutt is the only scheduled official visitor for the Rutgers game.
