Recruiting is always unpredictable, right?
It turns out there may be some late drama for the 2019 class after all. Hail Varsity has learned that Nebraska defensive line commit Jahkeem Green will be taking an official visit to Texas Tech this weekend. He is able to do that despite being committed this late in the process is because he has yet to fully sign his paperwork with the Huskers. He is still finishing up the classwork required to be accepted into Nebraska.
The other thing that’s unique about the situation is that the South Carolina native is actually finishing up his schoolwork back home in South Carolina and not at Highland Community College. While he is back home and working on his grades, it hasn’t stopped other schools from constantly contacting him. It’s not surprising either, considering he is one of the few guys technically left on the board that schools feel good about making an immediate impact on their team.
The Huskers have not given up on Green despite his contact with other schools. They are still in contact with him and very much want him to be part of the team when fall camp starts. At this point, I would describe the situation as one worth monitoring but not full-on panic inducing just yet.
Stay tuned to Hail Varsity for the latest on this story as it develops.
